Breakfast was at the Harding again today, at the Copper Alley Bistro where I have managed to avoid a full Irish Breakfast so far...From the Discover Ireland website "A large cooked breakfast of meat (bacon, sausages and black and white puddings), eggs, vegetables and potato all fried in creamery butter, it is served with a generous helping of homemade Irish soda or brown bread for soakage and washed down with a strong cup of breakfast tea such as Barry or Lyons tea (depending where you are) and a glass of orange juice".
On our way out of Dublin today we stopped at Kilmainham Goal, where we had a wonderful young lady named Siobhvan give us the tour inside the jail. It was very moving to hear about the polical struggles, famine, executions and about one of the prisoners (Joseph Plunkett) who was married just hours before being shot. It is a place I would go back to again. Scenes from "Michael Collins" and many other movies have been filmed at the Goal.
We also got to finally meet our great driver, Pascal and try out our Fitzpatick bus where we all took turns riding in various spots!

The Rock of Cashel is group of medieval buildings set on an outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale including a 12th century round tower, High Cross and Romanesque Chapel, 13th century Gothic cathedral, 15th century Castle and the restored Hall of the Vicars Choral.
I was lucky enough to find a geocache nearby too! This one was called This is near, but the one on the road is far away. I know we stopped for lunch in Cashel, but as it was just a egg salad sandwich, I don't really remember where exactly we were....might have looked around more, but it was drizzly and we just ran in anywhere to grab a bite before our tour of the Rock.
After our arrival in Kinsale we wandered down to Jim Edwards and had a great dinner with several members of the tour. Lamb chops and more types of taters at one meal than I have ever seen...mashed, chips and au gratin! And to think I had hash browns at breakfast!

After a resful night's sleep, Kinsale was a lovely town to hang out in after the hustle of Dublin. And yes, I managed another geofind in Kinsale...Well, well, well...that was not far from our home away from home at the Friar's Lodge.
Kinsale was originally a medieval fishing port, and now iis one of the most picturesque, popular and historic towns on the south west coast of Ireland. It has been hailed as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland, with no shortage of cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit every taste and budget.

Delicious breakfast of porridge and Bailey's with a little extra to put in my tea....what a great way to start the day!
We had another great guide to tell us all about the Tidy Town of Kinsale in the person of Don who geneally does the RS tours but will also take anyone around town...for more information see his site. While it was a bit damp, it mostly held off for us until the very end of the tour. He made history very accessible for all of us I think.
Then back on the bus for a short trip to Charles Fort...a star fort built right on the water's edge. Very interesting spot to visit, see the slide show at the bottom of this page.
We had some creative members on the tour and one wrote this ode to my missing luggage....
At day one Stephanie's luggage went amiss
Yet she dealt with it all with graciosness
Her shirt she all bought at the souvenier shop
Adn for days we all called her Guiness.
